Offenham Wake

The dates for 2019 Wake events are as follows: 

1st May  –  Mayday celebrations around the maypole

4th June –  Kwik Cricket softball tournament

A family event organised by Offenham Cricket Club, registration 6pm, start 6.30pm ending at 8.30 – 9pm latest. 8 teams max of 6 players.

6th June   –   Rounders Tournament 7pm

This is a fun event for adults and children.  Teams of 9 players aged 10 years or over must include at least 3 girls. Entries from 6:30pm until 6:45pm. The tournament will start promptly at 7pm.

7th June – Art Competition and Wake Sports 

At the recreation ground and village hall. 

6pm Art Competition Theme ‘Down on the farm’ art on display.  Presentation of the prizes at 6:15pm in the village hall.

6:30pm Traditional Wake Races For children aged up to 14. Maypole medals for the winners and tuck bags for all competitors. Followed by:  Offenham One Mile Race and Tug of War.

8th June   –   Wake Day

1:30pm Flower Service The children are invited to bring posies to the church which will be taken to Cedar Lodge.

2:00pm Procession to the Maypole With our Wake Queen and her attendants. 

2:15pm Opening of the Traditional Street Fair Fun for all with traditional stalls including local crafters, Creole Serenaders Jazz Band, licenced bar, teas and barbecue.

2:45pm Maypole Dancing with the village children. 

3:30pm Offenham Lady Maypole Dancers.                       

4:15pm Grand Raffle draw.

9th June   

3:00pm Treasure Hunt  from the village hall car park to the village wharf (Bridge Inn) where you can enjoy refreshments from Boat Lane Brewery and Silly Mares.

4:00pm Bell Boat Regatta This is being organised by Fladbury Kayak Club. Teams of up to 8, aged 8 years and over.

7:00pm The Great Wake Drake Race After the treasure hunt. Drakes can be bought from the Village Shop, Boat Lane Brewery , the Fish and Anchor or members of the committee.

22rd December  –  Carols around the Maypole
