From Offenham Parish Council – we need to hear from you!

New Homes Bonus Money

Offenham currently has £44315 available to claim from the New Homes Bonus Scheme subject to approval from the District Council. This can only be used for legacy projects for the village.

Wychavon is withdrawing the scheme soon, we only learnt of this on the 24th September so there is an urgency to keep money allocated to Offenham in Offenham.

The Parish Council together with the Village Hall Committee would like to use this money to do our bit towards climate change and future proofing the hall for years to come.

The proposals are:
1. Installing solar panels which would enable them to receive income from the sale of energy back to the nation grid with a view to self sufficiency.
2. Installing an electric car charging point – income received for usage.
3. Updating the lighting inside and out with energy efficient options.
4. Assisting with the cost of the terrace area and new disabled access.
(The VHC has already secured grants towards this project, plans can be viewed from the VH website)

• How do you feel about this?
• Let us know if you have another or better idea or even add your experience to assist with our goal?
Bear in mind that time is short so only achievable projects can be considered.

Defibrillator  This is now in place outside the shop.

You cannot go wrong if you need to use this system as it is self explanatory. When 999 is rung the operator will give the caller the location and access code to the defibrillator. Once this is accessed the user is given clear, spoken prompts on what to do.

How dangerous is this?  Not at all.  The defibrillator is programmed NOT to shock anyone who does not need it.
